How was the past year at Flex? Before January comes to an end, we at Flex want to take a moment to reflect on an incredible 2024. Together with our CEO, Jane Lundgren Ericsson, we look back at the highlights and offer a sneak peek into what's coming next.
Flex Applications has had an eventful year. What do you consider the biggest milestones?
Yes, It has indeed been an exciting and intense year across all areas at Flex! We’ve made significant strides in our AI initiatives, with several exciting developments both in our product and our ways of working. In collaboration with the communications agency Think Happy Thoughts, we introduced our new visual identity – which was even nominated for the Swedish Design Award! Alongside this, we also launched our new website. Moreover, we rolled out our new service portal, making it even easier for our customers to get the support and assistance they need from us.
Last but definitely not least, I’m proud that we’ve made great progress in future-proofing the technology behind Flex HRM. This ensures that we continue to stay ahead of the curve and provide a stable and reliable solution for our customers – a commitment that will continue into 2025.
New roles and team have also been introduced at Flex. Can you tell us more?
Yes, we have focused a lot on developing our organization in 2024. Among other things, we established a new Customer Success unit to create even stronger collaboration between departments and ensure that our customers receive the best possible support throughout their journey with us. On the HR side, we've strengthened our team with an HR Manager and a People and Culture Specialist. Additionally, we've welcomed a new Product Manager to drive our product and business development forward.
Delivering a smooth and simple user experience, both on the web and mobile, will be an even greater focus for us moving forward. To support this, we've expanded our UX resources. We've also launched a dedicated AI team to educate and support all our departments in harnessing the incredible opportunities AI presents.
Exciting! AI is now also a part of Flex' s product portfolio. Tell us more!
Yes, AI is a crucial part of the roadmap for our HRM system, Flex HRM. This year, we launched SmartDetect, our AI-powered monitoring tool that helps customers identify payroll errors before they become a problem. We also introduced AI-supported receipt interpretation, a tool that saves time and minimizes errors in expense management.
Of course, we’ll continue leveraging AI to simplify and automate even more processes for our customers. We’ve only just scratched the surface, and I’m convinced that there are plenty of opportunities to explore moving forward!
Flex also has a new product development strategy, what does that entail?
Our development team has always worked closely with users, but now we’re taking it a step further by adopting a more structured approach to so-called product discovery. This means gathering and analyzing data to gain deeper insights into how our system is used and what our users truly need. It’s all about making our development efforts more precise and impactful – we want to ensure that what we deliver makes a real difference for managers, employees, and HR/payroll professionals alike!
Finally, what can we expect in 2025?
First up is the grand opening of our brand-new headquarters, bringing all our Örebro employees under one roof. We moved in at the turn of the year, but on January 30, we’ll gather colleagues from all our offices to celebrate and enjoy our fantastic new facilities.
As I mentioned earlier, we're also looking forward to taking further steps in technology and security. Soon, we’ll be offering Flex HRM in the public cloud, providing all the benefits of enhanced performance and cybersecurity. Sustainability and CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) will also be high on the agenda in 2025, with several smart solutions in the pipeline to simplify data collection for reporting purposes.
Last but certainly not least, we want to be an outstanding workplace! We look forward to continuing to build on our strong Flex culture of community and collaboration while staying attuned to new needs and evolving as an employer – ensuring that every Flex employee has the best possible conditions to thrive and feel great at work!
